Milk does not come from a store!

He is serious. Roland Egger is a second generation dairy farmer and he’s convinced that there are some people out there who still believe that milk comes from the store.

Roland’s farm boasts a herd of 52 pure-bred registered Holsteins, an important fact because it means anything coming from his operation is traceable. "When raw milk leaves here it’s at the best quality level before it leaves for the dairy. They have amazing technology for testing now so in the event that there is a problem, it can be traced back to the individual producer."

As a fan of the entire farm lifecycle, Roland also recognizes the importance of the family farm within Ontario. We love nature, the fact that we’re self-employed, we love working with the animals, the whole lifecycle and it starts when you’re young." Nine-year-old Ryan is already a big help and Roland is hoping for the same enthusiasm for his three-year-old daughter Madison.
